China’s consumer inflation rate fell in September, while producer price deflation intensified, even as Beijing rolled out more stimulus measures to revive sluggish demand and shaky economic activity.
Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Sunday showed that the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.4% year-on-year last month and by 0.6% in August, which was lower than the 0.6% increase forecast in a Reuters survey.
CPI was flat month-on-month, rising 0.4% in August, below expectations for a 0.4% increase.
The producer price index (PPI) fell by 2.8% in September from the same period last year and fell by 1.8% in the previous month, which was lower than the expected decline of 2.5%.
