Iran’s Tasnim news agency said on Sunday that Iran had approved a plan to increase oil production to 4 million barrels per day, but did not provide a timetable.
Tasnim added: “Iran’s Economic Council, headed by interim President Mohammad Mohber, has approved a plan to increase the country’s oil production from 3.6 million barrels per day to 4 million barrels per day.”
Iran is a major producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
