Vietnam’s Communist Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has died after more than a decade in the country’s most powerful post, state media said on Friday. He is 80 years old.
State media quoted Nguyen Phu Trong’s medical team as saying he died early Friday afternoon “after a period of illness.”
