Canadian singer Celine Dion blasted former President Donald Trump on Saturday for using her song “My Heart Will Go On” at a campaign rally in Montana without her permission or approval.
“This use is in no way authorized, nor does Celine Dion endorse this or any similar use,” the singer’s management team said in a statement. release to her X account.
“…Really, that song?” Dion’s management team quipped as social media posts mocked the Trump campaign for using music from a movie about the sinking.
Dion’s management and Sony Music Entertainment Canada became aware of the song’s use in the event on Saturday, the statement said.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Trump used the song as a side note at a rally in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday, where he repeatedly followed his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been trailing in the polls ahead of him.
Harris has been using Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” during campaign rallies, and the pop star reportedly gave the vice president permission to use the song.
