The New York Stock Exchange welcomes Zeekr Smart Technology Holdings Ltd. to celebrate its initial public offering on May 10, 2024.
Beijing—Chinese electric vehicle brand Zekel The new battery was unveiled on Tuesday and is said to have the fastest charging speeds in the world.
The product is designed to address long-standing consumer concerns about battery range and charging convenience.
The US-listed company said Zeekr’s new battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes using the carmaker’s ultra-fast charging stations. Zeekr says the new battery will achieve the same charging performance in about 30 minutes, even in minus 10 degree Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) weather.
In contrast, Musk’s Tesla Says its superchargers can charge the company’s vehicles Can travel 200 miles in 15 minutes.
The company’s website says the Model 3 can travel 175 miles on a 15-minute charge, accounting for about 48 percent of the car’s advertised 363-mile range.
Chinese automakers Nioh An alternative to a three-minute battery change is also provided. The subscription service automatically replaces the batteries in select car models with batteries that are charged at specific swap stations.
Zeekr said its 2025 007 sedan, scheduled to begin deliveries next week, will be the first model to use the new battery.
The company said it has opened more than 500 ultra-fast charging stations in China and plans to double that number by the end of this year. Zeekr aims to operate more than 10,000 ultra-fast charging stations by 2026.
