A United Airlines Boeing 777-200ER made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport.

A tire fell off United Airlines The plane took off from San Francisco International Airport and landed in a nearby parking lot Thursday morning, damaging several vehicles, officials said.
SFO spokesman Doug Yakel said United Flight 35 later arrived safely in Los Angeles and the tires landed in an employee parking lot. No injuries were reported.
The runway was briefly closed to allow crews to clear the debris, Yackel said. Airport operations were not further affected.
On March 7, 2024, tires from a United Airlines plane landed in a long-term parking lot at San Francisco International Airport.

Flight 35 was originally scheduled to fly to Osaka, Japan, but was subsequently diverted to Los Angeles International Airport and landed safely.
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft had six tires on each of its two main landing gear struts, according to the airline. It is designed for landing with a missing or damaged tire.
According to the airline, the plane was carrying a total of 249 people, including 235 passengers, 10 flight attendants and four pilots.
United said passengers boarded a new plane bound for Osaka at Los Angeles International Airport.
“We are grateful to the pilots and cabin crew for the professionalism they displayed in handling this situation. We are also grateful to our ground team who waited with tugs to move the aircraft shortly after landing and to our ground team at the airport for assisting passengers at the airport. Assistance will be provided upon arrival,” United said in a statement. “We will work with customers and owners of damaged SFO vehicles to ensure their needs are met.”
