sales force New data and artificial intelligence solutions for health care workers were announced Thursday that could help relieve their heavy administrative workload.

The first tool, called Einstein Copilot: Health Actions, will allow doctors to make appointments, summarize patient information and send referrals through conversational language prompts to artificial intelligence, according to a press release. Salesforce also announced Assessment Generation, which will enable organizations to digitize health assessments such as surveys without the need for manual entry or coding, according to the press release.

Both capabilities are built on the company’s Einstein 1 platform, which health organizations can use to consolidate medical data from disparate sources, such as insurance claims systems and electronic health records, into one place.

Labor-intensive administrative tasks like filing paperwork are a big problem for healthcare workers. According to a recent survey by Athenahealth, this is one of the leading causes of physician burnout. The survey found that more than 90% of physicians reported feeling burned out “often” and 64% said they felt overwhelmed by administrative demands.

Because healthcare data is stored in many different databases and formats, the paperwork is often complex, making it difficult and time-consuming for clinicians to track down the information they need.Unifying data across the healthcare system is therefore a growing opportunity for tech companies like this Google, Amazon Web Services Salesforce, which provides cloud-based customer relationship management tools.

Salesforce says doctors can use Einstein Copilot: Health Actions to generate patient summaries that include details about the patient’s medications, clinical service requests, diagnoses and tests. By using artificial intelligence to generate summaries, doctors no longer need to spend time looking for all of these components independently.

Salesforce said its assessment generation tools will be generally available this summer, and Einstein Copilot: Health Actions will be available by the end of the year. Starting this summer, all Einstein Copilot features and functionality are also expected to be HIPAA compliant, the company added.
