Former first lady Melania Trump has disputed the official account of the assassination attempt on her husband, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, this summer.

Speaking in a dramatic 30-second video posted to social media on Tuesday to promote her new work MemoirsTrump believes that “there must be more to this story.”

She singled out law enforcement’s failure to apprehend gunman Thomas Crooks before the near-fatal shooting of Donald Trump at a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania.

“Trying to end my husband’s life was a horrific and painful experience,” she says in the video. “The silence around me feels heavy right now.”

“I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement arrest the shooter before the speech?” she said. “There’s definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth.”

The video ends with a picture of her new book, “Melania,” and a link to purchase the book. The book will be released in the second week of October.
