Germany will no longer sell shares Commerzbank The country’s financial institution said on Friday that the bank’s current strategy is “towards independence”.
The statement comes days after Bank of Italy UniCredit Bank announced that it had purchased 9% of Commerzbank shares from the German government and on the open market, and its chief executive said he wanted to explore a merger.
The agency announced that at a meeting on Friday it decided “not to sell any additional shares until further notice.”
