The FBI has confirmed that federal agents boarded a ship managed by the same company as the cargo ship that caused the deadly Baltimore bridge collapse.
In a statement on Saturday, spokespeople for the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland confirmed that authorities were on board the Maersk Saltoro. The vessel is managed by Synergy Marine Group.
“The FBI, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Criminal Investigation Division, and Coast Guard Investigative Division are conducting court-authorized law enforcement activities aboard the Maersk Saltoro,” a statement from the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Authorities did not provide further details.
In a lawsuit on Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice accused the Dali’s owner Grace Ocean Private Ltd. and manager Synergy Marine Group, both of Singapore, of recklessly cutting corners and ignoring known electrical issues with the vessel that left it There was a power outage moments before impact.

Grace Ocean spokesman Darrell Wilson confirmed that the FBI and Coast Guard boarded the Maersk Saltoro in the Port of Baltimore on Saturday morning.
Wilson previously said the owners and managers “look forward to setting the record straight in court” about the Justice Department lawsuit.
