Stock index futures were lower Monday night as investors braced for employment data and kept a close eye on corporate earnings reports.
Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures were up just 13 points, just above flat. S&P 500 Index Futures and Nasdaq 100 Futures Neither changes much, either.
Ford Motor Company Shares fell more than 5% after the automaker provided full-year guidance at the low end of its previously set range. On the other hand, North Face parents VF Corporation The company’s shares rose 22% after reporting better-than-expected results.
The moves followed gains in Wall Street’s three major indexes. It is worth noting that blue chip stocks Dow Chemical broke five consecutive declines, while stocks dominated by technology stocks Nasdaq Index It marked its eighth positive session in the last nine sessions.
Stock investors appeared to welcome lower oil prices after Israeli air strikes on Iran over the weekend did not hit energy facilities as some had expected. But as Treasury yields continue to rise, stock market gains are limited.

As the busiest week of the earnings season continues, traders will be keeping a close eye on earnings reports from major companies due on Tuesday. Pfizer and McDonald’s Results will be announced before the bell and then letter, break, Reddit, Chipotle and AMD After the market closes.
On the economic front, investors will focus on job openings and labor turnover data released in the morning, the first of several reports released this week that will provide insight into the strength of the job market. Elsewhere, statistics on house prices and consumer confidence are also expected on Tuesday.
