Donald Trump was declared the winner of the presidential election early Wednesday morning, with the Republican leading Kamala Harris in the projected Electoral College vote tally.
Neither Trump nor Harris received the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House, but the former president fell just four electoral votes short of that goal after NBC News predicted he would win Pennsylvania.
“I want to thank the American people for the honor of being elected as your 47th president and your 45th president,” Trump told supporters at the West Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida.
“We’re going to help our country heal,” Trump said. “We’re going to solve everything that’s wrong with our country.”
“We made history tonight for a reason,” he said. “This will truly be America’s golden age.”
