Leaders of major technology companies congratulated President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Vance on Wednesday on their victory in the U.S. presidential election.
The messages were similar, and the CEOs said they wished Trump success as he returns to the Oval Office and looked forward to working with his administration.
Amazon Founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos posted on X to celebrate Trump’s victory, calling it an “extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory.”
Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post and founded the space company Blue Origin, has had a rocky relationship with Trump and was a frequent target of the former president during his first term. Trump has repeatedly taken aim at Bezos’ ownership of the Postal Service, Amazon’s tax records and its relationship with the Postal Service. Bezos also launched an attack on Trump, Comments on social media posts in 2015“#sendDonaldtospace.” Bezos has taken a more conciliatory tone recently, praising Trump’s “courage under real fire” following an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania in July. Bezos posted twice on X this year, both times mentioning Trump.
In the run-up to Election Day, Bezos and the Washington Post were embroiled in controversy after the paper chose not to endorse a candidate in a presidential election for the first time in decades. Bezos made the call after his editorial board drafted an endorsement of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, The Washington Post reported. Bezos defended the decision in a Washington Post op-ed, saying the endorsement created “bias.”
Andy Jassy, who succeeded Bezos at the helm after he stepped down as CEO of Amazon in 2021, also congratulated Trump.
“Congratulations to President-elect @realDonaldTrump on his hard-won victory,” Jassy wrote in X’s post. “We look forward to working with you and your administration on issues of importance to our customers, employees, communities and the country.”
apple CEO Tim Cook posted on X congratulating Trump on his victory.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on X that he wished Trump “great success in his work.” “It is critical that the United States remains a leader in developing artificial intelligence that embodies democratic values,” he wrote in a follow-up post.
Yuan CEO Mark Zuckerberg called Trump won a “decisive victory” when he was elected and said he looked forward to cooperating with the Trump administration. “As a country, we face a tremendous opportunity,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Threads, a competitor to Meta’s Musk X app. The two men also had a rocky relationship at times. In 2021, shortly after the January 6 insurrection, Facebook banned Trump for two years.
Musk, who also runs electric car maker Tesla, space exploration company SpaceX and brain technology startup Neuralink, also unsurprisingly cheered Trump’s victory.
Musk has been a key ally of Trump in the White House, and the former president promised to appoint Musk as chairman of the Council on Government Effectiveness before he was elected. Musk also donated nearly $75 million to America PAC, the pro-Trump super PAC he established earlier this year. Tesla shares rose more than 13% on Wednesday afternoon as investors expressed optimism that a Trump victory would benefit the automaker.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google parent company letterHe also congratulated Trump on his victory and said he was committed to working with the president-elect’s administration.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said: “Congratulations to President Trump, and we look forward to working with you and your administration to drive innovation forward and create new growth and opportunity for America and the world. “
Intel CEO Pete Kissinger Issue a congratulatory letter Trump added that his company looked forward to “working with their administration to advance America’s leadership in technology and manufacturing in the world.”
The job posting comes as Intel embarks on a major restructuring effort to regain its position as the world’s leading chipmaker. A successful re-election for Trump could be critical for Intel and other chipmakers as Republicans say they may repeal the Biden-Harris administration’s Chip and Science Act, a measure aimed at spurring U.S. chip production bipartisan law
Cisco Founder and CEO Chuck Robbins wrote in X’s post The company looks forward to working with Trump and Congress on policies for “connectivity, innovation, cybersecurity, and more.”
Box Chief Executive Officer Aaron Levy also sent his best wishes to Trump. He wrote in a post on Keep accelerating.
Michael Dell, CEO and Chairman Dell Technologiesadded his own congratulations to the post on X.
