United Airlines Chief Executive Scott Kirby sought to reassure customers on Monday that the airline was safe after a series of flying problems in recent weeks.
In an incident this month, a Tire falls off Airlines flying to Japan from one of boeing company The 777 damaged cars in a San Francisco airport parking lot shortly after takeoff. In a separate incident, missing panels from an older Boeing 737 were discovered after it landed in Oregon on Friday.
“Safety is our top priority and is at the heart of everything we do,” Kirby said in an email to customers. “Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, there have been a number of incidents across our airlines that have Remind people of the importance of safety.”
Kirby said the incidents being investigated by the FAA are “all unrelated,” but that the team is reviewing the details “and using those insights to inform safety training and procedures for all of our employee groups.”

On March 8, a United Airlines 737 Max plane overshot a Houston runway. On March 4, a United Airlines Boeing 737 flying from Houston to Florida returned to the airport after plastic bubble wrap was ingested in the engine. Videos on social media showed flames coming from the engine.
United’s CEO said the airline already plans to implement changes such as “an extra day of on-site training for all pilots starting in May and a centralized training course for newly hired maintenance technicians.”
“You can rest assured that every time a United aircraft leaves the gate, everyone on our team is working together to ensure your safety on the road,” Kirby wrote.
