President Joe Biden will deliver a speech on his plans for the U.S. economy during his four-year term.
The White House said the Democratic incumbent will appear at the Brookings Institution to talk about his “China-foreign, bottom-up economic strategy.”
With less than six weeks until President-elect Donald Trump takes office, the speech serves as a kind of closing argument and a chance for Biden to shape how history will view his performance on the economy.
Biden is working to heal the economy in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, signing a massive stimulus and spending package aimed at turning things around. But throughout the remainder of his term, historic, stubborn inflation soured many Americans’ view of his handling of this critical issue.
