UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves said on Saturday she would take action to ensure the government adheres to fiscal rules announced in the October budget.
“The fiscal rules I set out in my October budget are non-negotiable and we will take action to ensure they are adhered to,” Reeves told reporters during a trip to Beijing.
Asked whether she would use her March 26 budget update to help rebuild the government’s headroom on those rules, Reeves said: “I’m committed to just one budget a year, which will be released in the fall.”
