Japanese stocks rebounded on Friday, while most markets in the Asia-Pacific region were closed for public holidays.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index The index rose 0.53% after falling about 1.5% in the previous session. The Topix rose 0.67% after falling 1.7%.
this yen The trading session will be closely watched as the yuan recently hit a 34-year low of 151.97 against the dollar amid speculation of possible intervention. It last traded at 151.45 against the US dollar.
Korean Cospi Shares were down 0.2% after the opening bell, while the small-cap Kosdaq index was down 0.45%.
Mainland China markets will be open for trading. Major Asia-Pacific markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Australia and New Zealand were closed for the Good Friday holiday.
On Wall Street, benchmarks S&P 500 Index The index posted its best first-quarter performance in five years.
The index closed up 0.11% on Thursday, while Dow Jones Industrial Average Add 0.12%. Both indexes closed at record highs.this Nasdaq Index down 0.12%.
