On Thursday afternoon, Donald Trump failed twice in his attempts to dismiss criminal cases, once in Florida and the other in Georgia.

In federal court in Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon rejected Trump’s request to dismiss charges against him related to his alleged mishandling of hundreds of classified documents after he left the White House.

Cannon wrote in the brief order that Trump’s arguments depended on his interpretation of the Presidential Records Act and were insufficient to warrant dismissal.

About two hours earlier, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee denied Trump’s attempt to dismiss his Georgia election interference case on the grounds that it violated his free speech rights .

In a setback in New York on Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Juan Melchan rejected Trump’s request to delay an upcoming criminal hush money trial.

Jury selection will begin in the case in less than two weeks. This is the first of Trump’s four criminal cases to go to trial.

The Republican presidential candidate and his legal team have employed tactics in several of the cases, including filing a series of motions to delay and dismiss the charges.
