Oil prices rose more than 3% after unconfirmed reports of an explosion near the Iranian city of Isfahan.
Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that an explosion was heard near Isfahan Airport, but stressed that the cause was unknown.
Global benchmark Brent crude oil prices rose 3.63% to $90.27 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 3.66% to $85.76 a barrel.
Flight tracking website Flight Radar 24 showed that multiple flights were diverted through Iranian airspace early on Friday.
