U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that “xenophobia” from China to Japan and India was hindering their growth as he argued that immigrants were good for the U.S. economy.

President Joe Biden Said Wednesday that “xenophobia” from China to Japan and India is hindering their growth because he believes immigration is good for them U.S. economy.
“One of the reasons our economy is growing is because of you and so many others. Why? Because we welcome immigrants,” Biden said at a fundraiser for his campaign in Washington. 2024 re-election campaign and marks the start of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
“Why China is so stagnant, why Japan is in trouble, why Russia, why India, because they are xenophobic. They don’t want immigrants. Immigration makes us strong.”
The International Monetary Fund predicted last month that economic growth in various countries will slow down in 2024 from the previous year, ranging from 0.9% in highly developed Japan to 6.8% in emerging India.
They predict the U.S. economy will grow by 2.7%, slightly higher than last year’s 2.5%. Many economists attributed the better-than-expected performance in part to immigrants expanding the country’s workforce.
Worry about irregular migration This has become a top issue for many American voters ahead of the November presidential election.
