South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem reveals in her upcoming memoir that President Joe Biden’s dog Commander deserves the same fate as her own 14-month-old dog, Cricket, who she died of Shooting it due to aggressive behavior.

“Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service agents. So how many people are attacked and dangerously injured before you decide to get a dog?” mentioned said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “This is an issue for which the president should be responsible.”

The Biden administration announced in October that the commander had been removed from the White House following a number of incidents of biting or otherwise attacking U.S. Secret Service agents.

Noem’s comments on Sunday come as she faces backlash from both Democrats and Republicans over her upcoming memoir involving her decision to personally execute various family farm animals, including crickets and an unnamed goat.

As she competes to become Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick, some, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, believe the controversial memoir has hurt her chances.

Since Noem’s memoir anecdotes became public, the South Dakota governor has been engaged in damage control to save her vice presidential campaign.

On Sunday, Noem doubled down on her defense and clamped down on Cricket, claiming the dog had been attacking her children and that the backlash she was receiving was politically motivated.

“For years, my political opponents have tried to use this story against me,” Noem said. “They do the same thing to me every day that they did to Donald Trump.”
