McDonald’s Plan to provide $5 meals in the U.S. for a limited time only.

The promotion will include four $5 items — a McChicken or McDonald’s double, four chicken nuggets, fries and a drink — and will last about a month, according to a person familiar with the matter. Starting June 25th.

“We know what it means to our customers when McDonald’s delivers meaningful value and communicates that value through national advertising,” McDonald’s said in a statement to CNBC. “This has been the case since our founding, and Never has it been more important than now.

CNBC reported last week that the fast-food giant is working to bring more value to its menus, with specific details being discussed and voted on by franchisees. The initial meal proposal did not clear the necessary hurdles.

Coca-Cola Co. has increased marketing funding to make the deal more attractive, CNBC reported Friday. “We often work with our customers on marketing programs to meet consumer needs. This helps us grow our business together,” Coca-Cola said in a statement.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

The month-long promotion comes at a time when restaurants are finally starting to feel the long-awaited push back from consumers.

McDonald’s recently reported mixed first-quarter results, with U.S. same-store sales slightly below expectations. Rising prices have helped boost average checks, but some consumers have been put off by rising costs.

Chris Kempczinski, the company’s chief executive, said: “As prices for everyday expenses rise, consumers are becoming more picky about every dollar they spend, which is putting pressure on the (quick-service restaurant) industry.

He added that McDonald’s must have a “strong focus” on affordability to attract diners.

“Great value and affordability have always been hallmarks of the McDonald’s brand, and all three stool legs come together to deliver that when our customers really want it. That’s the power and promise of the Golden Arches,” said John McDonald, owner, operator , Palmaccio, president of the National Advertising Fund, which runs the company, said in a statement to CNBC about the $5 promotion.
