GameStop shares rose more than 30% in pre-market trading early Friday before “Roaring Kitty,” the man who inspired 2021’s epic short squeeze, scheduled a YouTube livestream.
The stock was up 30.68% in pre-market trading as of 6 a.m. ET, off its previous high.
The volatile stock surged Thursday after the trader announced he would go live, his first in nearly four years.

The livestream will begin at noon ET on Friday, and nearly 14,000 YouTube accounts were already in line as of 6 a.m. ET.
Gill posted a screenshot of his portfolio on Monday night and is expected to discuss his GameStop holdings. CNBC was unable to verify his GameStop holdings and investment portfolio.
The former marketer for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company appeared in the 2023 movie “Dumb Money” and testified at congressional hearings about broker practices and gamified retail trading.
GameStop shares are up 166% year to date, according to LSEG data.
