appleIt is about to hold its annual global developers conference, where it is expected to announce its artificial intelligence plans. According to a recent report from Bloomberg, the company is expected to announce a partnership with OpenAI and reveal “Apple Intelligence.”

WWDC 2024 starts at 10am PT/1pm ET.

We’ll also look at the latest software updates for iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch. Apple typically releases the software as a developer preview before launching it generally to consumers sometime in the fall with new products.

The event is pre-recorded, but we’ll hear from executives including software chief Craig Federighi, who will likely discuss the practical uses of Apple’s artificial intelligence, whether it should run locally or in a large cloud cluster, and what should be built into the operating system versus distributed among applications.

“Data security will be a key differentiator for the company, and we hope they will spend time talking about their privacy efforts during WWDC as well,” Citi analyst Atif Malik said in a recent report.
