apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report Blog article On Monday, the next generation of Apple Watch will be thinner and have a bigger screen.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be released in September, when the company typically unveils its next batch of wearables and new iPhone models. Ming-Chi Kuo said that the screen size of the two Apple Watch models will increase from 41 mm to 44 mm and from 45 mm to 49 mm.
Kuo added that the specs of the Apple Watch Ultra models will remain “roughly the same,” but a dark case option may be available if production meets expectations.
Kuo added that starting in the second half of this year, the watch will include components made using 3D printing technology.
Apple has yet to mass-produce devices using 3D printing. The company tested 3D printing for Apple Watch Series 9 production in 2023 to reduce manufacturing time and material usage. Guo said the testing “significantly improved” production efficiency.
Kuo said Bright Laser Technologies will provide 3D printed watch components. He said demand for the Chinese 3D printing company’s parts shipments is expected to grow in the coming years due to the cost advantage of 3D printing. Kuo also mentioned the technology’s potential in Apple Watch case production.
