Here’s a look at the companies making headlines in midday trading: Chewy, GameStop — Meme stock trader Keith Gill, aka “Roaring Kitten,” bought 9 million shares (equivalent to After 6.6 shares), Chewy’s stock price fell about 6%. His other major holding, GameStop, also fell 6%. It’s unclear whether he sold GameStop stock to buy Chewy. Boeing Co., Spirit AeroSystems – Boeing said on Monday it would repurchase airframe maker Spirit AeroSystems in an all-stock deal worth $4.7 billion. Shares of Boeing Co. and Spirit AeroSystems both rose more than 3%. Trump Media & Technology Group — Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group rose 3% after falling about 11% intraday Friday. The stock has endured a tumultuous period of trading following the first presidential debate between former President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in the November election. Birkenstock — Shares of the footwear maker rose about 1% after UBS upgraded the stock to buy from neutral. UBS pointed to rising average selling prices and growth in Asian markets as reasons for optimism. Nio – Chinese electric vehicle shares rose 6% on Monday after the company said vehicle deliveries increased nearly 100% in June. NIO said it delivered 21,209 vehicles last month, a 98% increase from the same period last year. Tesla — Electric vehicle stock rose 6%. Tesla is scheduled to release second-quarter delivery data this week. Floor & Decor Holdings — Floor & Decor shares fell 3% after Spruce Point Capital Management issued a short-selling report, citing concerns about the credibility of management and the board of directors. The report also revealed concerns about the accuracy of the company’s strategy and financial reporting. NextEra Energy Partners — Renewable energy stocks fell 5%. Royal Bank of Canada downgraded NextEra Energy Partners to sector perform from outperform, calling the company’s road ahead “challenging.” Cruise Line Stocks – Shares of a range of cruise lines fell as Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Grenada as a Category 4 storm.
