Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE, broke the news on X that the Crown Prince of Dubai has been appointed Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates as part of a wider cabinet reshuffle.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 41, who has been Crown Prince of Dubai since 2008, was also appointed as one of the UAE’s deputy prime ministers.
Sheikh Hamdan, nicknamed “Fazza,” is a popular member of Dubai’s ruling family with 16.4 million followers on Instagram.
UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also appointed deputy prime minister in the reshuffle.
Sheikh Mohammed’s post said other new appointments include Alia Abdulla AlMazrouei as Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Sarah Al Amiri as Minister of Education, Abdulrahman Al Awar serves as Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
