While one index provider did run into trouble, the massive IT outage that caused unprecedented global disruption did not stop business as usual in much of the financial markets.

Officials at both the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq said they were up and running on Friday, despite the CrowdStrike issues that have impacted everything from airlines to banks to many other businesses around the world.

“NYSE markets are fully operational and we expect to open normally this morning,” a spokesman for the exchange said Friday.

Likewise, Nasdaq, a favorite trading venue for fast-growing technology stocks, said it had successfully resolved issues posed by an update implemented by global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.

“Our European markets and U.S. pre-market operations are operating normally. We expect the U.S. market to open normally,” the company said.

There’s something else wrong, though: The Russell U.S. indexes, which include the closely watched Russell 2000 small-cap index, weren’t calculated after the opening bell.

“Our live platform is currently being impacted due to a third-party technical issue, which is resulting in clients being unable to access and receive data,” FTSE Russell said in a statement. “This disruption is impacting the FTSE Russell Live Index. Our The professional team is actively investigating the matter to resolve it as soon as possible.”

Although Russell indices are not updated on the digital platform, calculations of various indices are ongoing.
