Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index futures were at 7,952 points, slightly lower than the previous closing point of 7,971.1 points. The country’s private sector activity expanded at a slower pace in July, Composite Purchasing Managers Index The index fell to 50.2, a six-month low from 50.7 in June, according to Juno Bank.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index Futures showed that the market opened weaker, with the Chicago futures contract at 39,435 points and the Osaka futures contract at 39,430 points, compared with the previous closing price of 39,594.39 points.
Hongkong Hang Seng Index Index futures were at 17,474 points, slightly higher than the Hang Seng Index’s last closing point of 17,469.36 points.
The U.S. S&P 500 index fell 0.16% overnight to close at 5,555.74 points, after posting its best performance in more than a month.
The Nasdaq edged down 0.06%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.14%.
