Donald Trump will take questions from reporters Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual meeting in Chicago as he refocuses his presidential campaign against his likely rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

NABJ said the Republican candidates’ Q&A in front of a live convention audience is expected to focus on the biggest issues facing the Black community.

Trump will speak with Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner, ABC News senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott and Semafor political correspondent Kadia Goba. The event will be livestreamed on the organization’s Facebook and YouTube pages at 1 p.m. ET.

She added in a follow-up post, “While my decision was influenced by many factors, I was not involved in or consulted in any way on the decision to stand for Trump in this format.”

Tia Mitchell, a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and co-chair of the NABJ program, defended the move, saying it was “consistent with the invitation NABJ has extended to every presidential candidate for decades.”

Harris, however, will not attend the convention.

While then-candidate Biden planned to attend the event, a person familiar with Harris’ plans told NBC News that the vice president was unable to fit an appearance at the convention into her schedule this week. Harris’ overlapping plans include attend a funeral Remarks by the late Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, and the ongoing running mate selection process.

NABJ rejected requests from Harris’ team to have the vice president attend a virtual fireside chat or schedule an in-person event with the team at a later date, the person said.
