Former Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis has agreed to cooperate with Arizona prosecutors in criminal prosecutions against so-called fake voters and others trying to overturn former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss litigation. Attorney General Chris Meyers said Monday.

Prosecutors dropped nine felony charges against Ellis – including fraud, forgery and conspiracy – in exchange for her cooperation with the remaining 17 defendants in the case.

“This agreement represents an important step forward in our case,” Mays said in a statement. “I thank Ms. Ellis for her cooperation with our investigation and prosecution.”

“Her insights are invaluable and will greatly assist the state in proving its case in court,” the Attorney General said. “As I said when the original charges were announced, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined – this It’s so important. Today’s announcement is a victory for the rule of law.”

The remaining defendants in the case include disgraced attorney Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who worked closely with Ellis after the 2020 election to try to overturn Trump’s loss to President Joe Biden situation, but the effort was doomed to fail.

Also charged are former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, attorneys John Eastman, Boris Epshteyn and Christine Bobb. Christina Bobb), and Mike Roman, who led the Trump campaign’s 2020 Election Day operations.

The remaining defendants include Kelly Ward, Tyler Bowyer, Nancy Cottle, Jacob Huffman, Anthony Cohen, James Ramon, Robert Montgomery, Samuel Moorhead, Lorraine Pellegrino, Gregory Savstein and Michael Ward.
