Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he will be interviewed by billionaire Elon Musk on Monday night. Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corporation.
The former president’s planned meeting with Musk comes after Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. Previously, investigations into a pro-Trump political action committee that Musk said he founded were also disclosed.
“I will be conducting a major interview with Elon Musk on Monday night – stay tuned for details!” Trump wrote in an article published on “Truth Social”.
CNBC has asked Musk for comment.
On Monday, the North Carolina State Election Commission told CNBC it received complaints that the organization was collecting personal data from website users but failed to help users register to vote as promised.
The practices of the U.S. Political Action Committee, which supports Trump’s campaign, have also drawn attention from the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and the Michigan Secretary of State.
Musk is also the owner of social media company X, which was known as Twitter when it went public. Trump had been an avid Twitter user for years before the site banned his account after a group of his supporters incited the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The ban was lifted after Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion.
Despite this, Trump has used Truth Social in his social media messages. The company is owned by Trump Media, a publicly traded company whose majority shareholder is the former president.
