Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro on Thursday accused Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump of peddling anti-Semitism after the Republican presidential candidate called him a “highly overrated Jewish governor.”
“I think it’s been clear over the last few years that Donald Trump is obsessed with me and obsessed with continuing to sow hatred and division in our politics,” Shapiro said in response to Trump’s overnight swipe on the Truth social network. Tell reporters.
“He’s someone who regularly peddles anti-Semitic tropes like this,” said Shapiro, a Democrat who leads arguably the most competitive swing state in the presidential race.

The White House blasted Trump Thursday morning over the post.
“Assaulting fellow Americans by calling out their Jewish faith in a derogatory manner or perpetuating the centuries-old ‘dual loyalty’ smear campaign,” White House spokesperson Herbie Ziskend said in a statement , which is anti-Semitic, dangerous and harmful.
“President Biden and Vice President Harris believe that as Americans we must come together to condemn and combat anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred and bigotry,” Ziskind said.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Chang responded that Trump’s critics “have no idea what they’re talking about.”

“This is diametrically opposed to everything Donald Trump believes in, and it’s clear that he will continue to be the hateful, divisive person he has been throughout this campaign.”
“I think given his track record, it’s clear he’s setting himself up for another failure,” he added.
