LONDON – Britain will immediately suspend the issuance of some arms export licenses to Israel over concerns their use could violate international law, Foreign Secretary David Lamy said on Monday.
“This is not a total ban. This is not an arms embargo,” Lamy said in a speech to lawmakers in the House of Commons.
Lamy said that 30 of the UK’s approximately 350 licenses to export arms to Israel will be suspended.
