LONDON – Kate, Princess of Wales, announced on Monday that she has completed chemotherapy and will resume light activities until the end of the year.
“Right now my focus is on doing everything I can to stay cancer-free,” she said in a video message, about six months after she revealed she had an unspecified form of cancer amid intense public speculation about her health. .
Kate said: “The past nine months have been extremely difficult for our family.” She added, “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. people.
“Humility allows you to face your weaknesses in a way you may have never considered before, giving you a new perspective on everything,” Kate says.
The video, in which she delivers messages through voiceover and slow music, was filmed in various locations including forests, beaches and fields in Norfolk, eastern England. She wore a long white dress with a pattern on it.
Sometimes she appears alone, sometimes she is joined by her husband, heir to the British throne Prince William, and their three children George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six.

She thanked people for their support for her and her family, saying: “While I have completed chemotherapy, the road to healing and full recovery is still long and I have to continue to take each day as I go.”
She added: “However, I look forward to returning to work and conducting as many public events as possible over the coming months.”
Kate has made several public appearances since revealing she had cancer in a video in March, in which she said she was receiving “preventive chemotherapy” on the advice of her medical team.
In July, the princess took her daughter to the men’s final at Wimbledon. Sister Pippa Middleton Matthews, 41, was also in the royal box.
In June, she attended Trooping the Color, a parade celebrating the official birthday of the British monarch. Before the march, she said in a statement that she was “not out of the woods yet” and that she had “good days and bad days.” She said she was “making good progress” but her treatment would continue for months.
Kate’s revelation that she has cancer comes just over a month after Buckingham Palace announced that her father-in-law, King Charles III, had also been diagnosed with cancer while in hospital with an enlarged prostate. The palace said he did not have prostate cancer.
Kensington Palace, the official residence and offices of the Prince and Princess of Wales, said she would no longer perform public duties as she recovers from planned abdominal surgery, amid months of intense speculation about Kate’s health. speculation that this video was released after this.

Both Charles and Kate have declined to reveal what type of cancer they have or details about their prognosis.
However, like Kate, the 75-year-old monarch has attended a number of events since resuming public duties earlier this year, including D-Day commemorations in France.
He is also scheduled to visit Australia and Samoa with Queen Camilla next month, a trip that will span 12 time zones.
While Charlotte attends Wimbledon, the princess and her brothers George, 11, and Louis, 6, have largely been out of the public eye since their mother’s surgery.
Charles and Kate’s illness highlights the challenges facing a streamlined royal family as the king pledges to cut spending.
With fewer working royals able to attend the ribbon-cuttings, state events and awards ceremonies of modern royal life, the remaining royals are being forced to take on even more responsibilities.
Therefore, Camilla, the king’s sister Princess Anne and his youngest brother Prince Edward had to shoulder the burden.
