American Airlines Flight attendants ratified a five-year labor agreement, ending one of the industry’s most contentious contract negotiations and giving cabin crew a more than 20% pay increase in early October.
The union said Thursday shortly after the polls closed that 87% of American Airlines flight attendants who voted approved the contract.
Julie Hedrick, president of the Association of Professional Cabin Crews, which represents the airline, said: “This contract is a significant milestone for our cabin crew, providing instant pay of up to 20.5% increase, while also providing substantial retroactive pay to account for the time spent negotiating.
