CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States) is reviewing bids from Japanese companies Nippon Steel purchase United States Steel Corporation A person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday that the Japanese company’s request to resubmit its takeover application had been approved.
CFIUS needs more time to understand the national security implications and engage with all parties, the person added.
