Vice President Kamala Harris significantly outraised former President Donald Trump in fundraising and spending in August and ended the month with more, according to new Federal Election Commission filings cash to fund her final push toward the November election.

The figures reflect funds raised specifically for candidates’ primary campaign accounts and do not include donations to other parts of their political operations.

New Federal Election Commission filings show that donor enthusiasm for Harris has grown steadily even as initial hype over a Democratic July candidate swap has moderated. Harris also reversed the donation gap in Democrats’ favor, erasing the fundraising lead that Trump and the Republican Party had before Biden exited.

Since then, the Harris campaign has outpaced Trump in advertising campaigns on television and digital platforms, as well as other campaign spending.

According to FEC filings, Harris and the Democratic National Committee jointly spent $258 million in August, much higher than the $121 million spent by Trump and the Republican National Committee.

“As we enter the final stretch of this election, we will secure every ounce of our hard-earned money,” Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a press release earlier this month. All used to win over the voters who will decide this election.
