trade Trump Media Shares of Truth Social were briefly halted Tuesday amid volatility after the company’s owner’s stock price suddenly plummeted.
Shares continued to fall after a five-minute trading halt at 12:47 p.m. ET.
The stock had risen more than 13% early Tuesday afternoon, but suddenly fell more than 6% on the day of the trading halt.
The sharp moves came during an extremely high-volume trading session, with more than 76 million shares traded as of 3 p.m., several times the company’s 30-day average trading volume.
