universalEpic Universe theme park in Orlando, Florida will open on May 22, 2025.
Epic Universe is the company’s fourth theme park and is part of a 750-acre development and the largest of its properties, featuring five themed worlds: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your World Dragon – Berk Island, Paradise Park, and Dark Universe.
Epic Universe, first announced in 2019, is the largest single investment Comcast-owned NBCUniversal has made to date in the theme park business and throughout Florida, CEO Brian Roberts said at the time.
Construction stopped in July 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but started ramping up again in March 2021.
By adding Epic Universe to its entertainment slate in Orlando, Universal Studios can transform its resorts into week-long destinations rather than just two- or three-day trips for families. The company also operates Volcano Bay Water Park, about a mile from Universal Studios Park.
“This is a pivotal moment for our destination and we are excited to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year,” Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a statement Thursday. “With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week of epic excitement. “
The epic universe will center around Loews Hotels’ Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room hotel that will provide hotel guests with dedicated park entrance.
Universal Studios will begin offering some multi-day tickets and packages on October 22nd. Tickets.
In addition, annual pass holders will have the opportunity to purchase single-day tickets to Epic Universe on October 24 before they go on sale to the public. Additional ticketing options will be available at a later date.
