A federal judge on Friday ordered the release of more than 1,800 pages of documents filed by special counsel Jack Smith in the criminal election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan later released the records Deny request Trump’s lawyers have kept it sealed until after the Nov. 5 presidential election.

However, many individual files remain redacted.

Trump is accused of illegally conspiring to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden.

Chatkan is considering what evidence could be used against Trump in light of a Supreme Court ruling this summer that effectively narrowed and delayed Smith’s case against the former president.

The high court ruled that Trump enjoys “constructive immunity” from criminal prosecution for his official actions as president and absolute immunity from certain core executive functions.
