DJT stock closed Tuesday at $51.51 per share and was trading below $40 around noon Wednesday.
Republican presidential candidate Trump owns nearly 57% of the company, according to recent regulatory filings.
As of midday Wednesday, his holdings were worth about $4.5 billion, nearly $1.4 billion less than they were on Tuesday afternoon.
Trump has vowed not to sell his stock.
