this disney The fleet size continues to expand.
Next month, the Disney Treasure Cruise will sail to the Caribbean for the first time from Port Canaveral, Florida, officially becoming the sixth ship in the company’s lineup.
The Treasure is 221 feet tall, 1,119 feet long, and can carry 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members. Like Disney’s other cruise ships, Treasure features themed dining, thoughtfully designed lounges and premium live onboard entertainment.
As the Treasure Ship sets sail, Disney also begins its own journey. The company, which has not launched a new ship in a decade before Disney Wish debuts in mid-2022, is entering an era of rapid expansion.
Disney’s fleet will double in size by 2031, with two ships arriving in 2025 – Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure – followed by four more Disney-branded ships and a partnership with Oriental Park Company to bring Disney cruise vacations brought to Japan.
“Disney Cruise Line is going through an unprecedented period of growth,” said Thomas Mazloum, president, Disney New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences. “We are seeing very strong demand for Disney Cruise Line right now. We are A premium brand with great occupancy and, frankly, business doing very, very well. ”

Disney’s base prices are considered slightly more expensive than Carnival and Royal Caribbean’s, but prices are very similar if guests choose to upgrade to a larger cabin or add food packages or experiences to their itinerary.

Gavin Doyle said what sets Disney apart is its innovation in cruises and its focus on storytelling, Founder of MickeyVisit.com.
“Disney redefined the cruising space when they came in, and that’s how they designed the ships in a guest-centric way, with the services for the people on board, and the beloved characters and intellectual property that they could integrate,” he said.
Doyle pointed out that Disney uses a “rotating dining” system for diners on its cruise ships. Passengers don’t eat in one large canteen – they are pre-arranged to eat in different themed restaurants. Disney also rotates restaurant staff to track each group of passengers to their reserved restaurants. This way, guests have the same waiters, servers, and restaurant managers throughout their entire trip, and the servers get to know the guests and their preferences.
“It felt like magic that they were able to provide this level of customer service,” Doyle said.
Immersive dining
While Treasure has some of the traditional amenities found on cruise ships—upscale restaurants, swimming pools, spas, and children’s playrooms—Disney incorporates storytelling into these services to elevate the experience for guests.
Its dinner restaurant offers an immersive atmosphere and live entertainment. Plaza de Coco is the first theater dining experience themed to the 2017 film Coco, and guests are cordially invited to gather at Mariachi Plaza to enjoy festive food and music.

There is also a restaurant named “1923” after the year Walt Disney Animation Studios was founded. This location is relatively low-key and upscale. It houses a collection of exploration-themed artwork from modern and classic animated films.

In addition to its three main family restaurants, Treasure has many places to dine casually and grab a quick bite on the go. Those with a sweet tooth can head to Jumbeaux’s Sweets, which is modeled after the ice cream parlor in Disney’s “Zootopia.”
The Treasure also has some adult-only dining spots for those traveling without kids or looking to stay overnight.
Palo Steakhouse and Enchante are upscale restaurants inspired by “Beauty and the Beast”, offering delicious Italian and French menus. The Rose is a chic lounge located at the entrance to both restaurants, offering pre-dinner aperitifs and post-dinner cocktails.

“Walt Disney World is about 50 years old,” Mazloum said. “Disneyland is longer. Many of our guests have grown up coming to our parks over the years, and over time you have these iconic attractions and experiences… We The visionaries, and I have to give them a lot of credit, came up with this idea.
“We’re really excited about the idea and even more excited about the reception we’ve received,” he added.
Another fan-favorite park attraction is the Jungle Cruise. The Skipper Society is a great place to grab themed cocktails and snacks, surrounded by camp-style furniture.

Other adults-only venues include the Scat Cat Lounge, based on Aristocrats, and the Periscope Bar, based on Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
Multi-generational fun
Of course, for many, a Disney cruise is a family affair.
“People often say they were designed with families in mind, and that’s absolutely true,” Mazloum said. “I would go a step further and say that they are really designed for multi-generational use so that everyone can enjoy their experience.”
According to the Cruise Lines International Association, cruising is the top choice for multi-generational travel, with one in three families having at least two generations sailing together. Another 28% of cruise passengers are three to five generations old, the organization said in its annual State of the Cruise Industry report released in April.
Disney has dedicated spaces for every age group. It’s a small world nursery with nanny services for children 6 months to 3 years old, while older children can head to the Disney Ocean Club, which features multiple immersive spaces.
Families can also watch “Disney’s Moana Story” at the Walt Disney Theater aboard Treasure. The Broadway-style production features giant Teka puppets and a new song called “Warrior Face.” The stage will also feature DisneySea Adventures and Beauty and the Beast.
In addition, Treasures will feature the Hero Zone, Wonderland and Neverland Cinemas, all popular locations in Disney Wish. The Hero Zone is a sports and leisure space offering game show-style competitions and physical challenges, while the Cinema is a luxurious screening room showing first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm.
Similar to Wishland, Treasure Land also features a Toy Story-themed area, including a splash pool, wading pool, and family waterslide. There is also an adapted version of Wish’s AquaMouse water coaster called “The Curse of the Golden Egg.”
