Police believe the suspect in the slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson left New York City shortly after the murder, possibly on a bus, Report explain.
New York Police Department chief told CNN Surveillance footage of the suspect in the Thompson shooting Wednesday taking a taxi from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to the Washington Heights Port Authority Bus Terminal next to the George Washington Bridge.
New York City Police Department Detective Joseph Kenney said the man then entered the bus terminal.
“These buses are interstate buses,” Kenney told CNN. “That’s why we believe he may have left
New York City.
Kenney said police were trying to determine which bus the man may have boarded.
“We have video of him entering the Port Authority Bus Terminal. We don’t have any video of him leaving, so we believe he may have gotten on the bus,” Kenney said.
In addition to westbound buses, the terminal also has shuttle vans that take passengers across the Hudson River from the GWB to Fort Lee, NJ, and points further west.
