Detroit – Both General Motors and Ford Motor Company U.S. new car sales posted their best annual performance since 2019 on Friday after sales were hampered by the coronavirus pandemic and years-long supply chain issues.

“Our business is driven by new vehicles in our portfolio that deliver outstanding design and performance, helping our dealers satisfy more customers,” Rory Harvey, GM’s president of global markets, said in a news release.
Ford Friday report Sales in 2024 will be 2.08 million units, up from nearly 2 million units in 2023.
The automaker said its full-year sales of traditional combustion engine vehicles were up 0.2% from 2023, while sales of electric vehicles were up 38.3% from the same period last year.
Electric vehicles (including hybrids and electric vehicles) account for 13.7% of Ford’s total annual sales.
