Nissan The Japanese automaker announced on Monday that it aims to increase vehicle sales by 1 million units by the end of fiscal 2026 and reduce the cost of producing electric vehicles by 30% by 2030.
In the new mid-term business plan, Nissan also stated that it will launch 30 new models before fiscal 2026, 16 of which will be electric models. It aims to bring the cost of electric vehicles and internal combustion engines to parity by 2030.
“This plan will enable us to go further and faster in improving value and competitiveness,” Nissan President and CEO Makoto Uchida said in a statement.
“In the face of extreme market volatility, Nissan is taking decisive action guided by the new plan to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.”
The automaker also said it aims to achieve operating profit margins above 6% by the end of fiscal 2026.
