apple CEO Tim Cook told Chinese state media that the company will launch Vision Pro headphones in China this year.

In a video posted to a CCTV account on the Chinese social media site Weibo, Cook said “yes” when asked whether the Vision Pro would be launched in China this year.

Apple’s virtual and augmented reality headsets launched in the United States in February, with prices starting at $3,500.

In China, Apple will compete with local headphone manufacturers such as Pico, owned by TikTok parent company ByteDance.

Cook has been in China over the past few days, visiting a new Apple store in Shanghai and attending the China Development Forum in Beijing. His visit comes as Apple faces many challenges in the Northeast Asian country.

The iPhone giant’s sales in Greater China fell nearly 13% in the December quarter as consumers became cautious about spending and tougher competition in the smartphone market from a resurgent Huawei.

Cook reiterated Apple’s commitment to the Chinese market.

“I’m very confident in (China),” Cook said, according to a press package posted on CCTV’s Weibo account. “I love China, I love it here, I love the people and the culture here. Every time I come here, I’m always reminded that anything is possible here.”
