José Andrés, founder of the non-profit organization World Central Kitchen, wrote on the social media site X that several employees of the organization were killed overnight in Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

Andres wrote: “Today, @WCKitchen lost several of our brothers and sisters in an IDF airstrike in Gaza. I am heartbroken and saddened for their families and friends, and for our entire WCK family… The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing.”

The New York Times cited an Israeli military statement earlier on Tuesday saying it was “conducting a thorough review at the highest levels to understand the specific circumstances of this tragic incident.”
