The Slavyansk oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region was damaged in a Ukrainian drone strike, local authorities said on Saturday.
Roman Siniagovskyi, the head of the Slavyansk administrative district, said on Telegram that a total of nine attacks took place in tank farms and distillation towers.
“Thanks to the organized protection system, the tank farm was not damaged. The distillation tower was damaged. With the joint efforts of the responsible departments, the fire was extinguished,” Siniagovski said.
Local emergency services said a fire broke out in a small area of the refinery and was later extinguished.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 66 Ukrainian drones over the Krasnodar region and two more over the Crimean Peninsula.
