Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed in principle on a pay package for Arne Slott as he becomes Jurgen Klopp’s successor.
The salary package is £7.7m, plus £1.7m in add-ons.

He ticks a few boxes, but his way of playing – particularly the use of a back three at the back – and long-term vision don’t suit the current squad, nor the philosophy that Liverpool are promoting across all ages.

On Thursday, Slott said he was confident a deal could be reached. “Everyone understands that Feyenoord will want to receive as much money as possible, but I don’t think they will begrudge me the move,” he said.
“I expect things will become clearer in the coming days.”
